UA Talk by Ivana Mirchevska

Ivana Mirchevska, from North Macedonia, is an interdisciplinary artist and researcher whose work spans moving images, sound, text, and sculpture. Her artistic practice is deeply rooted in research, aiming to critically engage with the inherent binaries of nature-culture and challenge patriarchal and anthropocentric visual narratives. Currently, Ivana is delving into positions of intercorporeality and care through the conceptual lenses of vibrant surfaces. She is also a co-founder and curator of the Underground is Easier to Breathe Festival, a platform dedicated to ephemeral and experimental art practices. Notably, Ivana is a recipient of the WHW Akademija Fellowship (2023) and the Young Visual Artist Award in North Macedonia (2022).
