Ana Elisa Lidizia (Rio de Janeiro) is an art historian, teacher and curator. She is studying for a PhD in Art History (PPGHA UERJ), a master’s degree in Critical Studies of the Arts (PPGCA UFF) and a bachelor’s degree in Art History (UERJ). Between 2022 and 2023 she was a substitute professor in the Department of Art Theory and History at the UERJ Institute of Arts. She is currently the curator of Casa da Escada Colorida, an autonomous art space with studios located at Escadaria Selarón, Lapa. As well as curating at Casa da Escada Colorida, she coordinates the Artistic Residency and Critical Accompaniment Programs.
In 2023 he curated Clara Machado’s first solo show “Arcadas” at the Espaço Cultural Correios in Niterói (RJ). She co-curated “Cartographies of Augusta” for Sesc Madureira. In 2023, she curated the group shows “dos ritos, os dias”, “outras línguas dizem outros nomes”, “trezentos metros quadrados” and “o trabalho do bell das seis” for Casa da Escada. In 2022, she won the Paço das Artes Project Season Notice in the curatorial category with the exhibition “ferramenta ferragem ferrugem”, which was on show for five months in São Paulo. In her doctorate, she is researching the relationship between images and words and the illegibility that emerges between the fields of literature and the visual arts. She is a contributor to the Socially Implicated Art Program, coordinated by Bia Petrus, and the magazine Círculo de Giz.
