UA Artist Talk: A/bel Andrade
The Digital Hand: UA Artist Talk with A/bel Andrade.
The conversation will explore the fusion of traditional sculpture techniques with technology and how this intersection has created opportunities for artists with disabilities.
A/bel Andrade (1996, they/he) is an interdisciplinary artist and designer living between Toronto and New York City. Their work examines the intersections between disability and gender identity, integrating elements of their own queer-crip identity into their work through the visual analysis of systematic collapses, rhizomatic structures, and intentional failures. They are currently developing a body of work which examines the Affects of Inflammation on the systems that surround us, both internal and external, in the wake of the pandemic.
