Lazy Moon Palace
Co-directed by Swiss artist Peilian Li (@emma__bucks) and Chinese-French artist Grandee Dorji (@grandee_dorji).
“Lazy Moon Palace” represents an experimental approach to artistic documentation, exploring the intersection of diverse cultural identities. It navigates the spaces between fantasy and documentary, examining notions of apocryphal and emotional truth. As a video art piece, it brings together artists from diverse cultural backgrounds and gender identities. It envisions a fantastical rendition of Switzerland, where Ticino is reimagined as a tropical QUEENdom, reflecting the region of Yunnan in southern China, where artist Peilian Li originates from.
The screening of the art piece will be a hybrid 23 minutes video presentation (online and streamed from the UA gallery in NYC) with a live remote introduction by Peilian Li. After the screening the artists will open the floor for questions.
