| Bio | Born in 1999 in Hong Kong, YukTsang Ng, now a London-based MA Photography graduate from the London College of Communication, University of the Arts London, is acclaimed for his innovative fusion of found imagery, archives, and photographic materiality. His art, blending autobiographical and fictional narratives, probes into themes like love, loss, and vulnerability, mirroring the digital era and the evolution of photography. Ng’s groundbreaking techniques challenge traditional image perceptions, continuously evolving with new digital platforms and technologies, thus bridging the digital-physical divide and offering fresh perspectives on memory and perception. Ng’s work transcends conventional archival norms.. He reimagines the photographer’s role, likening himself to a painter using fragmented photographs as brushstrokes, conceptualizing them as a unique medium. His creations, characterized by the interplay of technology and tactility, form atmospheric installations that resonate with the digital world. Employing personal archives and found imagery, Ng’s process involves tearing, cutting, and crumbling photographs, culminating in large-scale installations of reassembled fragments, which are then rephotographed. The resulting images juxtapose clarity with ambiguity and abstraction with reality. Ng’s artistry has been showcased in several exhibitions in Hong Kong and London, Ng has been a part of the Uncool Artist residency in New York. |
