She is noted for the diversity found in her artistic practice, both materially and visually, and the varied nature of her subject matter. Her work turns to visual representation to capture her deep respect for environmental phenomena and beyond biological life and the mental flows of the human brain. | Statement | For many years I worked in the environmental field, but I became depressed and disillusioned with what I saw happening around me. Since 2009 I’ve had the incredible privilege of being able to live and work as an artist in China and have traveled extensively throughout Asia. My practice has allowed me to explore who I am in the world and learn about other cultures through exposure to their art. I’ve been able to keep the incredible people I’ve met, places I’ve been, and experiences I’ve had alive in my visual creations. For me, art is life, and life is art – there is no separation. -=≡=- Por muitos anos trabalhei na área ambiental, mas fiquei deprimida e desiludida com o que via acontecendo ao meu redor. Desde 2009, tive o incrível privilégio de poder viver e trabalhar como artista na China e viajar bastante pela Ásia. Minha prática me permitiu explorar quem eu sou no mundo e aprender sobre outras culturas através da exposição à sua arte. Consegui manter vivas as pessoas incríveis que conheci, lugares que estive e experiências que tive em minhas criações visuais. Para mim, arte é vida e vida é arte – não há separação.
