Statement
Statement | I feel that art is about finding somewhere—literally somewhere, a place—to reliably get yourself lost in the flow of argumentation. The quickest route to these places is, in my experience, accumulation. Art—the accumulation of ephemera—is the site where logic can only get us so far, that we return to over and over as a way to remind ourselves that it is important to not know, and it is precisely the limit of logic that allows for the serendipity of emergence out of accumulated assemblages. My work lies not in the production of new things but in engaging with what is already there, in looking around and noticing, in world-building, in sculpting an affect of inevitability and a place for things to occur, and in the embodied construction of forms so that they may be tested. So that things might emerge beyond the limit of our control and our presuppositions.
