Bio

Angie Rangel (Barranquilla, 1994) is a Colombian visual artist whose practice explores memory, femininity, and the symbolic transformation of everyday life. Through painting, textiles, and poetic composition, her work reinterprets domestic rituals, gestures, and garments passed down by women across generations.

Currently based in Medellín, Rangel was selected for an Artist residency in New York (2025).  Her visual language has evolved through research in post-pandemic technologies, emotional migration, and the tension between tradition and digital presence.

Her projects often center on the female figure as archive and mirror, creating intimate spaces where personal and collective memory overlap. Each piece operates as an entry in a visual diary—silent, symbolic, and emotionally charged.

Statement

Statement

“Her paintings act like an archive of personal experiences, memories, and desires. Rangel blends elements of folklore, art history, and family narrative to construct compositions rich with her own lore, welcoming viewers into the period rooms of her mind which encourage us all to reflect on our own constellations of personal inspirations.”
