| Bio | McKinna Anderson is a visual artist working in and around photography, sculpture, and installation. Through a theoretically informed approach she explores matters of absence and presence, specifically how they oscillate between physical reality and digital realms, using strategies like image mining, erasure, and processes of transmutation.
Anderson earned her BFA from the University of South Florida, and her MFA from the University of Florida. She is currently employed as a Teaching Lab Specialist for the Creative Photography and Art + Tech departments at the University of Florida. |

Statement
| Statement | Through a theoretically informed process I explore matters of absence and presence using a multidisciplinary approach. Working in and around photography, sculpture, and installation I navigate an interstitial space between two modes of experience: that which is felt/known and that which is intangible/imaginal. I use strategies like erasure, image mining, and processes of transmutation along with ubiquitous building materials and web-based media to deal with ever-present themes of futility.
