Janey Roanna (b.2001) is an interdisciplinary Graphic Designer and Photographer whose work focuses on communication & (cultural) Diversity. She’s a Caribbean/Dutch woman raised in the suburbs of Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

My practice is rooted in storytelling of identity, displacement, and connection. My lens is drawn to the rhythms of diaspora, to the ways history lingers in architecture, in gestures, in the silence between wor(l)ds. I chase the energy of the streets; fleeting exchanges and quiet rebellions.

My work is a conversation between movement and stillness, people and places not as they are expected to be, but as they exist in their most unfiltered form.

Whether through analog film or digital fragments, I push the boundaries of my medium, always seeking new ways to translate feeling into image.
