Statement
Statement | Will the development of technology drive us further apart – or bring us closer together? That is the question at the core of my artistic practice. Researching and proposing new imaginaries for how we connect with one another through technology is central to my work. By creating interactive machines, I investigate the nuances and possibilities that revolve around human intimacy in its intersection with technology. Architectural-scale installations, algorithms and digital-based fabrications, AI generated images, poetry, photography, digital platforms and even satellite technology are amongst my chosen media. Looking for the balance between the force of art and the force of science, I’m interested in building complex machines that rely on the public’s active participation. Then, they are able to amplify the very nature of connections, leading us to rethink how we relate to ourselves, to others, to the natural world and even to celestial ideals. In this search to infect imaginations, and to allow them to propagate new futures, I hope to continue challenging how we perceive fundamental questions on how we live – and how we die. |
