For this reason, today he makes some digital experiences that he used to call digital collages, where he mixes his drawings with images from films, comic books, advertising and even things generated by Artificial Intelligence. Posts on Instagram, trying to break the successful boredom of that monotonous social network. When it fails, our hero does so miserably-but-gracefully. Autodidata – não somos todos? – foi jornalista e gosta de desenhar, mas anda meio cansado. Por isso, hoje faz umas experiências digitais que se acostumou a chamar de colagens digitais, onde mistura seus próprios desenhos com imagens de filmes, gibis, publicidade e até coisas geradas por Inteligência Artificial. Publica no Instagram, tentando romper o tédio bem-sucedido daquela monótona rede social. Quando falha, nosso herói o faz miserável-mas-graciosamente. | Statement | At the limit, only the absurdities of Horror and Laughter interest me. Perhaps because there is no reason to be terrified and laugh, and yet we are terrified and laugh. Maybe my work investigates this mystery; perhaps I’m just scared and laughing. I believe that we extract grace from life by inventing motives; therefore, my works are images of affection in search of a story. I like to imagine that they are an invitation to narrative possibilities. Apart from what we feel, everything is a game of invention. I use Instagram as a platform for the exhibition of my works because it is an accessible, futile and ephemeral social network. Maybe my work has a performance bias because of that. Well, one day I may decide to expose my stuff in more sober places. Still, for now, I think it’s fun to “denounce” the absurdities of Horror and Laughter between gourmet sandwiches and ostentation selfies. -=- No limite, só os absurdos do Horror e do Riso me interessam. Talvez porque não exista motivo pra se apavorar e rir e, ainda assim, nos apavoramos e rimos. Talvez meu trabalho investigue esse mistério, talvez eu só esteja apavorado e rindo. Acredito que extraímos graça da vida inventando motivos e, por isso, minhas obras são imagens de afeto em busca de uma história. Gosto de imaginar que são um convite para possibilidades narrativas. Fora o que sentimos, tudo é um jogo de invenção. Uso o Instagram como plataforma de exibição dos meus trabalhos, porque é uma rede social acessível, fútil e efêmera. Talvez meu trabalho tenha um viés performático por causa disso. Bom, um dia posso resolver expor minhas coisas em lugares mais sóbrios, mas por enquanto, acho divertido “denunciar” os absurdos do Horror e do Riso entre sanduíches gourmet e selfies de ostentação.
