Statement
Statement | Influenced by modernism and a background in design, my painting research focuses on exploring grids, form and color. The act of drawing a grid is what first establishes my understanding of the plane I am working on and the space that presents itself to utilize composition and color to create images and meaning. The possibilities of respecting or breaking the grid through tonality, pattern, repetition, rhythm, harmony, tension, visual knowledge and intuitive wisdom are part of the development of my visual language.
